The Essential Functions of the Position

§ Send a standard IRS donation letter to couples after the weekend.
§ Record expenses using a financial form that includes a copy of receipts. Board members and others may submit their own financial forms requesting reimbursement for expenses. Bills and receipts are scanned and become part of the QuickBooks database.
§ Maintain originals of the financial forms and receipts in monthly file folders.
§ Provide a monthly report to the board. Once the finances are entered in the computer, a set of preselected board reports is printed from QuickBooks without need for additional input.
§ Submit an annual 990-EZ report to the IRS online. QuickBooks contains a set of reports for each line of the form. (May 15 deadline)
§ Submit an Annual Charitable Report to the state of Minnesota. QuickBooks contains reports for each line of the form. (July 15 deadline)

amiliar with or willing to learn QuickBooks. QuickBooks is well-designed and easy to learn. Training will be provided so you will feel comfortable with the software. Short videos that review each task will be available on the computer.
§ Time required: Once the system is familiar, compiling a monthly report to the board will require 3-5 hours. This will be longer initially, and it can be shortened by updating payments and donations throughout the month, so the information is already in the computer. With time spent at board meetings, depositing donations, sending donation letters, etc., a minimum of 10 hours a month is required.
§ Training will be provided to walk with you through the IRS and state reporting forms when it comes to file these.
